Hello, fellow nerds! We have an awesome interview for you this week with Lara Buckheit, who just happens to be the author of our September read-a-long book, “A Realm of Ash and Shadow”! Bonus Episode: Author Elizabeth Kirke
Hello, fellow nerds! This week’s author interview is with Elizabeth Kirke, who we met got to sit down with on the podcast and who we hosted a panel with at Imaginarium Book Festival!
Elizabeth wanted to be an author before she even knew what an author was. She used to say that she wanted to be an artist, but that was only because she was too young to write and had to tell stories with pictures instead. She hasn't stopped writing since she learned how. It wasn't long before she dreamed of becoming an author and couldn't be happier now that that dream is a reality.
If she isn't writing...well, let's be honest; if she isn't writing she's probably on Facebook thinking that she should start writing. But, if she isn't writing or on Facebook, she's probably doing something involving books, baking, gardening, or yarn. In an ideal world, she'd be reading and knitting while something from the garden is in the oven. Then again, in an ideal world, she'd have a flock of ducks and a couple of goats.
Listen in as we chat more about Elizabeth’s “More than Magic” series, what she's currently reading, and her fave fandoms. And be sure to follow Elizabeth at @elizabethkirkeauthor

Bonus Episode: Author Penn Cole
Hello, fellow nerds! We had the opportunity to interview Penn Cole, author of "Spark of the Everflame" and her new release, "Glow of the Everflame". Background on Penn: Penn Cole is a fantasy romance author whose debut novel and the start of her Kindred’s Curse Saga released in June 2023.
While her life has taken her through a lot of ups and downs, her love for reading and writing has forever been her true north. She has been writing stories since childhood, filling mountains of notebooks with wild worlds and angsty romances. After receiving her degree in Creative Writing and planning to write the next “great American novel”, she took a detour as an attorney and small business owner. We plan and fate laughs, as they say, and now she is thrilled to be a full-time author.
She is a regular participant in NaNoWriMo, loves meeting and supporting other new authors, and reading fantasy, rom coms, and non-fiction.
Originally from Texas, Penn lives in France with her husband, where she can usually be found sipping wine and creating fantasy worlds on her balcony.
Listen in as we find out more about Penn, her new release, what she's currently reading, and her fave fandoms. And be sure to follow Penn at @authorpenncole

Moriah is a two-time graduate from the University of South Carolina, with a Bachelor’s in Liberal Arts and a Master’s in Library and Information Science. She indulges in her love of all things bookish by spreading that passion to others as an elementary school librarian. When not reading or writing, she can be found at the bookstore, adding another book to her endless TBR, sewing, or drafting something new. Moriah looks at the world through a writer’s lens, seeing stories in everyday life just waiting to be told and doing her best to be the medium through which they reach the page.
