Bonus Episode: Author Geneva Monroe
Hello fellow nerds! Deb had the pleasure of sitting down the Geneva Monroe this week, the debut author of the Sun Serpent Series and Dark Oz! We met Geneva at the @imaginariumbookfestival last year as a bookstagrammer and can't wait to see her there this year as a published author. We are blown away by her writing, so go check her out!
Most days, you can find Geneva wandering the streets of her small colonial town or snuggling up beside a fire with her husband, son, and two cats. No matter the location, she probably has a book in one hand and a macchiato in the other.
Over the past twenty years, Geneva has visited nearly every continent. She has spent hours exploring temples in Asia, been graced by the generosity of families who welcomed her into their home, danced on South America’s shores, and climbed mountains in Africa to watch the sun rise. It has been her greatest joy to explore the planet’s amazing diversity, and then share that with as many people as she can.
This desire found its home in her debut novel SUN SERPENT. Geneva writes fantasy kingdoms with complex and nuanced cultures. She draws upon the visual language of the places she’s traveled and combines them to create new landscapes. The end result is a world that feels familiar and yet captures that same wonder she felt during those first steps beyond the boundaries of her childhood home.
Join us as we chat with Geneva about writing pretty, stabby things, naughty words for nice authors, as well as all of her nerdiest things. Be sure to follow Geneva at @geneva_monroe_author

Bonus Episode: Author AJ Vrana
Hey nerds! If you listened to our final Midnight Mass episode, you heard A. J. Vrana answer all of our vampire questions, but we also wanted to share our interview with her from this summer!
A.J. is a Serbian-Canadian academic and writer from Toronto, Canada. She lives with her two rescue cats, Moonstone and Peanut Butter, who nest in her window-side bookshelf and cast judgmental stares at nearby pigeons. She may be the smartest person we know–her doctoral research examines the supernatural in modern Japanese and former-Yugoslavian literature and its relationship to violence, and her Master of Health Studies research focuses on type 1 diabetes and emotional labour in young adults.
When not toiling away at caffeine-fueled scholarly pursuits, she enjoys jewelry-making, cupcakes, and concocting dark tales to unleash upon the world.

Bonus Episode: Author Elle Mitchell
Hey nerds! We sat with one of our faves, Elle Mitchell, to chat about her book "The Pieces We Leave Behind" and the upcoming "Carved in Scars", which releases on January 8th!
Elle is an avid reader, daydreamer, devourer of knowledge, and author of new adult contemporary romance. Her books are both plot & spice and center around flawed, relatable characters dealing with real life issues and struggles. They're messy, like real life, and emotional. She can't promise that all of her books will depict what a healthy relationship should look like at every turn, but she can promise a happily ever after when it is all said and done.
When she isn't existing in her own head or conversing with figments of her imagination, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children, traveling, hiking and finding joy in the ordinary.
Listen in as we chat more about Elle's work, what she's currently reading, and her flawed characters. And be sure to follow her @ellemitchellbooks

Bonus Episode: Author AK Landow
Hello, fellow nerds! We have a special Sunday bonus interview this week with raunch-com author AK Landow! Her writing is known for laughs, tears, and for being one-handed reads.
AK is the author of the Belles of Broad Street and the City of Sisterly Love series. She’s a recovering attorney living outside of the Philadelphia area with her husband, who she secretly pined for through her teen years, three crazy hormonal daughters, and multiple animals.
She enjoys reading, now writing, drinking copious amounts of vodka, and laughing. Having discovered there’s no other need in the world for funny degenerates, she’s thrilled to have this new avenue to channel her age-inappropriate sense of humor.
She published the first four books in the City of Sisterly Love series in 2022, with the final full length (a few novellas added) book having been published in 2023. She initially wrote the first book, Knight, because it pisses her off that there are no FMCs over the age of 40. She wrote it as an FU to the romance community to let them know that "oldies" still get it on. She fell so madly in love with both being an author and her fictitious family, that she can't seem to stop writing. The entire series centers around a group of strong, intelligent, confident, and supportive women. The central family is known for severe cases of oversharing and walking in on each other. Hilarity often ensues.
Listen in as we chat more about AK’s work, what she's currently reading, and how she lived out the secret crush trope in her real life. Be sure to follow her @aklandow_author

Bonus Episode: Author Swati M.H.
Hello, fellow nerds! This week, we sat down with the hilarious, sweet and crazy smart Swati M.H., author of the Fated Love duet, the Elements of Rapture series, and her newest release, Ablaze!
Swati MH is a Texas raised Indian American currently living in the Bay Area. With a degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas and an MBA, she has had a successful career building software products, but writing is both her hobby and passion. Swati likes to call herself a storyteller rather than an author. She’s a mom of two beautiful little girls and a wife to a wonderful and supportive husband. Her days start with caffeine and sometimes end with a glass (or three) of wine.
For Swati, writing and reading are an escape from real life. She loves meeting and creating characters who she’d love to take out for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. Her goal as a storyteller is to distract her readers from their daily grind with stories about everyday couples finding and fighting for incredible love with the help of a little luck.

Charissa Weaks is an award-winning author of romantic and historical fantasy. She crafts stories with time travel, magick, myth, history, and the occasional apocalyptic quest.
Charissa resides just south of Nashville with her family and two wrinkly English Bulldogs. When she’s not writing, you can find Charissa lost in a good book or digging through four-hundred-year-old texts for research.

Hello, fellow nerds! We had the absolute pleasure of interviewing Kat Long, author of the Southern Spark series and the Southern Charm series, and it was beyond sweet & hilarious!
Back in 2018, Kat Long had a dream about her boss, a band, and oranges, that dream slowly took shape, and behold, a story was born! She writes strong, confident heroines, and badass, alpha males with melty centers–Alpha-Marshmallows.
Kat is in finances by day and writing by night. Kat lives at the beach with her very own Happily Ever Always, a daughter, and two very irritating but adorable cats. When she isn’t writing, she is reading any romance she can get her hands on, watching Animal Planet in yoga pants, trying not to over-water her succulents, and wondering if the meaning of life is forty-two.
